Always maintain a firm grip on the Handles of the Hand Chain Saw with
both hands. This tool is designed for use only by one person at a time.
Be aware that prior to starting a cut, the chain may swing back towards the
user’s arms if chain is held above the handles.
WARNING! Branch trimming is a dangerous activity. The use of this Hand

WARNING! Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other
construction activities, contain chemicals known (to the State of California) to cause cancer,
birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are: lead from
lead-based paints, crystalline silica from bricks and cement or other masonry products, arsenic
and chromium from chemically treated lumber. Your risk from these exposures varies, depend-
ing on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in
a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that
are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Always wear eye protection. Wear ANSI approved safety impact
goggles when using this product.
Always wear hand protection. Saw teeth are extremely sharp. Handle
with extreme care, and always wear heavy duty work gloves. In addition,
wear an ANSI approved hard hat and steel toe boots for additional protec-
tion.
2.
3.
4.
Check to make sure there are no children, adults, or animals in the area.
Place the Chain (6) around the tree limb to be cut. Make sure there are no kinks
in the Chain and that the chain links are not doubled up.
(See Figure A, next page.)
5.
Decide what tree limb you want to cut, and plan where you want to stand so you
are clear of falling limbs.

8.
As you place the Chain (6) around the limb, step back from under the limb so
that the Chain is at a 45 degree angle to the ground. (See Figure A.)
Position the Chain as close to the base of the limb as possible before cutting.
(See Figure A.)
Undercut all the way around the limb which will help prevent the bark from peel-
ing back.
(See Figure A.)
9.
Saw the limb in brisk, long, even strokes by pulling alternately on each Handle (4)
of the tool. Use the full length of the Chain (6) on each stroke.
(See Figure A.)
10.
Stay in one place when you cut a particular limb, so the Chain (6) keeps cutting
along the same plane. Changing the angle of the cut halfway through a cut may
cause binding of the Chain. (See Figure A.)
11.
12.
The limb will be sawed through quickly. There’s no need to paint the wound left
by removing a limb. “Mother Nature” will mend the cut.
The Hand Chain Saw may also be used to remove roots which are growing too
close to the surface. Clear away soil from the root, so you can place the Chain
(6) under the root. Pull up on each Handle (4) to cut the root.
13.
When finished using the Hand Chain Saw, make sure to store the tool in a clean,
dry, safe location out of reach of children and other unauthorized people.
